Marinas del Mediterráneo D-Marin has unveiled a comprehensive renovation project to transform one of the city’s most iconic infrastructures. Estepona’s Marina is poised to embark on a new chapter in its long history. In an ambitious effort to modernize and revitalize one of the city’s most renowned facilities, Marinas del Mediterráneo D-Marin has unveiled a comprehensive renovation project for the Estepona Marina. The scope of the project aims to establish the facilities as a benchmark on the Spanish coast.
For years, Estepona’s marina has been a hub of maritime activity and a meeting point for the local community and tourists alike. The renovation proposal seeks not only to modernize the facilities but also to integrate the marina more organically with Estepona’s urban fabric.
The project presented by Marinas del Mediterráneo D-Marin for the renovation of the concession is currently awaiting resolution by the Andalusian Public Ports Agency (APPA). The works include both land and water areas and will cover a total area of over 57,000m2. This will be carried out through strategic planning: a phased remodeling that will allow the port to continue its activities, minimizing disruptions for users and visitors.
One of the project’s highlights is its commitment to the environment and sustainability. Innovative measures are being considered to reduce carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and promote the use of renewable resources. This approach not only reflects a growing awareness of the importance of sustainability but also anticipates the needs of a society increasingly focused on environmental conservation.
Among these measures, the installation of photovoltaic systems for solar energy utilization, telegestion systems for more efficient resource management, and the digitization of services for sailors stand out. Through a mobile application, sailors will be able to handle all their procedures without having to visit the customer service office.

Similarly, plans include the installation of a system for collecting gray and black waters from boats, water cleaning robots in the docks, and even several electric vehicle charging points, better known as „electroliners”.
Additionally, the project will include the renewal of key infrastructures such as the potable water supply system, with the incorporation of a desalination plant, and the improvement of wastewater sanitation. This will ensure that the port is more efficient in its resource consumption and, consequently, more respectful of the natural environment.
The remodeling will also include the expansion and improvement of pedestrian areas, the creation of new green spaces, and the reorganization of parking areas to facilitate smoother access for residents and visitors. These changes aim to enhance the quality of life in the marina, making it more accessible, enjoyable, and safe for everyone.
Moreover, a restructuring of nautical facilities is planned to enhance the experience of the port’s users. This will include the modernization of docks and moorings, as well as the addition of additional services to improve the experience for boat owners and visitors.
This project is also an opportunity to revitalize the local economy. The renovation is expected to attract more tourism and generate new jobs, driving the region’s economic development. Additionally, the revaluation of the port as a destination for high-quality leisure and tourism will have a positive impact on the real estate market and local businesses.
The role of Marinas del Mediterráneo Estepona, as the current concessionaire, is central to this transformation process. Their vision and leadership will be crucial in carrying out this project, which is envisioned as a model for urban development and sustainability at the national and international levels.

On the other hand, D-Marin, known for its management of world-class marinas, brings a wealth of knowledge and international experience to the project. Their focus on providing high-quality services and utilizing advanced technology will be essential in transforming the port.
This partnership ensures that Estepona Marina will be aligned with the highest international standards in terms of customer service, technology, and sustainability.
With this renovation, Estepona will further establish itself as a key destination on the Costa del Sol, blending tradition and modernity and offering new leisure and tourism opportunities. The project is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and the quality of life of its citizens.
